How We Got Our Name

Overton Country Kennels got its name from the children of some close friends of ours, Jim and Michelle (also known as the “Qs”).  Their boys loved to come out to our place in the country and play.  They called it “Overton Country”, and would frequently tell their folks all about how “Out in Overton Country they have a stream near their house”, and, “At Overton Country you have to walk to get the mail.” (Our mailbox is down the road 1/10th of a mile from the house).  The name has stuck ever since.

Directions:

We are located due north of Minot Air Force Base.  To get here, simply go north on Highway 83 past Minot AFB, turn left on the first gravel road north of the base (198th Ave NW), then turn left again after one mile and you are there!

“Dear Overton Country Kennels,
Thank you so much for everything!  Spock and Snickerdoodle were very well cared for, and we really appreciate that.  Knowing that you are there and do such a wonderful job has gotten us to consider some more travel in the not-so-distant future.  I’m sure the dogs are looking forward to seeing you again. Thanks again for everything!
God Bless, Scott and Sarah A.”
